v8 and v6 only difference is the redline isnt it? i go junkyarding like once a week. ill try to grab one if its not too spendy

I think the actual resistance between V6 and V8 is different, because the pulse it gets from the Distributor/coil is different. I seem to remember reading that. I know I had a V6 tach for a while in a V8 car and it jumpped all over the place throughout the rpm range, but I had the older 82-89 cluster.

I didn't get notice anyone had responded.

Yes, v6/v8 tach is different. I know I had to do the resistor mod to my old one. My speedo is what was broke on my old one. Now the speedo on my digital is acting up even after sending it in for repairs. Now they wont respond to me. So I'm just gonna pull it and put a stock in. Tired of seeing that car sit.

None of the pull it yourself yards here have one.
