Crew,
I sold G33kSqu4d the catalytic converter off of my 86 firebird. It looked fine, I could still see through all the honeycomb, but is it possible i sold him a dud converter? |

Glad you finally passed.
The cat has a precious metal coating. If that coating is gone from contamination like coolant, oil, fuel, etc it can look fine, but not make the reaction. The only way to tell is get the car HOT and check with a temp gun. Should be approx. 100deg hotter on the outlet, than the inlet. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

When you passed, did you get to test right away or did you sit in line for a while? |

Was probably about 4 cars back, probably sat in line for about 15-20 mins. _________________

Glad you passed. FYI, the calibration on some of their machines is pretty wacko, even though they're supposed to be checked and recalibrated every 3 months or so, I seriously doubt that's kept on schedule. |
