Hey guys I have decided to sell my 00 Si that I bought for the wife long ago and go for something a little more suited for both our expanding family and my go fast needs.

I am going make the move for a 04-07 Cadillac CTS-V seems like it should have everything we both want.

4 doors (check for wife)
400HP LS-6 or LS-2 in the 06-07 model (check for me)
Heated leather (check for her)
T56 six speed (check for me)

LOL once I get the old car sold and I get something lined up I will be sure to post up pics.

Does anyone here have one or known someone that does and how do they like it?

I know the Diffs have problems and a few others things but nothing I am not prepared to take on. Since the wife will be driving it, it should have a easy going life unless I take the wheel LOL Very Happy

my dad had an 06 that he bought new. it was a great car! he had it until it had 60k on it, not a single issue. he had a cat back, intake, tune, and pedders suspension parts. loved it. he then traded it in on an 09 E63 AMG which is mighty fine aswell!

Have you test driven one? If your a big guy you might find it cramped in the width, wich I did and it was deal breaker. The car got wider and the interior was much improved on the 2nd gen, not sure if thats an option for you? I know it's not for me but if you have the funds it's worth it.

A comparable option would be a G8GT...Those things have alot of room in them and respond to mods just as well. No 6 speed though unless you can find an ultra rare GXP.

I did some tuning and dyno work on one that had a magnacharger and lots of other goodies. It was a beast. Car fit me well. Most of the time it will be the wife behind the wheel anyways and she is a small thing!


I had given the g8 some thought but they seem to be a little further up there in price. Plus I really want to row my own gears in a daily since we always buy manuals in the DD cars.

I will look at them again though maybe they have gotten a little bit more realistic.


No way a V2 would be anywhere near my price bracket! LOL

This might be considered sacrilegious as this site, but have you thought about a newer Ford SHO with the Ecoboost? I'd bet prices are in neighborhood of older Caddy V, and the SHO is all-wheel drive. Livernois will make your SHO run very low 12's.

I have an Ecoboost F150 with same type of engine. It bolts off the line, leaving behind the 5.0L trucks, and pulls evenly through entire RPM range. Aftermarket development is just beginning with the Ecoboost. I've seen 600 Hp single turbo F150 already, and I'm sure there is more to come.

My grandmother (Laughing) has had a Taurus SHO for a few years and it is a sweet vehicle and has been perfectly reliable. Very big, very luxury, very fast. No manual trans in one though, which is where I draw the line. I would rather have the CTS-V myself, for the RWD and 6-speed.

Her last three cars were the SHO, a Mercury Marauder and a supercharged 3800 Buick. She likes to drive fast. Smile

That it awesome. I have worked on several of the 3800 supercharged buicks and they were always comfortable but I would find myself looking for a gear to grab if I was in one all the time.

I have been hot on the hunt for a V for a little bit now...... They are being elusive thats for sure. The wifes car found it's way to renton area just a couple of days ago so now I am getting really serious. Looks like I am going to end up traveling somewhere to come up with exactly what I am looking for though!
