What up fellas! I know, It's been forever since I've been on here. Sorry, the job has been keeping me busy (and away from home).

Anyway, I've been wrenching a lot lately on the IROC and am going to take it to Bremerton for another attempt at beating my best 1/4 run. Any of you guys intersted in running your's?

I dyno'd mine a few weeks back and pulled a new best of 383 RWHP and 372 TQ. I've got my fingers crossed that it's enough to break that 11 sec barrier...if something else doesn't break first!

A lot of little mods and a lot of tuning since my last run. Looking forward to gettin' it back on the strip. Look me up if any of you can make it. I just loaded the IROC onto a trailer and will be headed out tomorrow afternoon.

I might try to make it there just to spectate. Mine's not ready to run yet, but it should be fun to watch...

Thanks Al! It'd be great to see you there. I've got a few other guys from work driving out too: a ZO6, an older vette and a BMW M5 with a v10... all supposed to meet me there Sat morn'. Hope it's not too crowded.

I'm not home for long though, attached with the USS Stennis now and will be leaving very shortly. Just wanted to get some ThirdGen fun in before I go!

Thank you for your service and I wish I had mine up and going so I could come play. I am still a couple months away from completion.

Good luck on bettering your record. What were you running before?

izcain - Thanks man. Last run was in 2008, best of 12.2. After that run I dyno'd it with the crew in Portland, first dyno pull was 352 with a lean AFR. Ive done a few minor mods since then, suspension, lots of tuning and shedded just over 100lbs. Most recent dyno was 383 RWHP, so I'm hoping to break into the 11's this time out. Not sure if I did enough though, it's only pushing 30 more RWHP. It's gonna be close though!

With the same given run an extra 100 pounds off is a tenth right there man! You got it in the bag if you can hook!

I really wish I could go and watch, but I have a roof to finish cleaning (moss was terrible for the last couple of years) and today seems the perfect day to finish up.

Very Happy Definately nailed it today! Wow was it crowded though, only got 3-runs in cause I had to leave by 1:00pm and it was about 1-1.5 hours between runs. The car totally hooked though, no tire spin at all. First run was 11.895 @115.28 with a 1.69 60'. I datalogged during the run, showed rich from 5700-6k so I adjusted AFR after that run. Next run I pulled a super rookie move and ended up throwing away the timeslip! Third run was best, 11.787 at 115.34 and a 1.598 60'.

Had a great time and made my goal of 11's! Too bad they put me in the Pro class, didn't like them smoking me each time! There were two other 3rd Gens out there, an older Brown one pulling in the low 11's and a black one, not sure what class.

Soon as I figure out how to post a vid I'll link it up.
RT - .255
60' - 1.598
330 - 4.790
1/8th- 7.494
MPH - 90.92
1000- 9.828
1/4 - 11.787
MPH - 115.34
Woo Hoo! Not Bragging, Just Sharing!

Thanks Schultzy! I'm sure you've got something up your sleeve coming soon!

izcain - THX! Not too sure I'm going to do much more performance wise though. I plan to upgrade the heads next, debating on stepping up the cam one notch. I'm running the old school, 80's technology AFR 190 heads right now I think they're PN 1018. I've got the wife convinced to let me buy a set of the new AFR 1095 Eliminator's (Comp Ported). I know my cam won't take complete advantage of the flow capabilities with it's .544/.555 lift, but I figure even at the lower lift it will be a decent HP bump and the heads won't be my limiting factor if I want more later. Probably just get it closer to my 11.50 goal...stopping there cause I'm not interested in installing a roll-cage! Just want a nasty aXX street ride to pull out on sunny days!

That's a hell of a good ET for that mph. 60' is great too. I'm sure there's another tenth or more left in it once you get a few more runs in. Oh and BTW you wouldn't need a roll cage until 9.99.

9.99 eh? Well then...I always thought it was 11.49 just never looked it up! Well the IROC is back under cover and put away for now. I'll get back to it in Jan when I return. i'm headed to Bremerton tomorrow to load our gear on the Stennis, then I'll be leaving for 4-mos next Thursday.

Enough time to save for those new AFR's! Take care, I'll holler at you all later...
Tim
