I joined a winter league just after Thanksgiving and doing pretty good until the last 3 or 4 weeks. My average has fallen off to a 187 to start tonight. I'll gain a few pins on it after tonight's scores, two were just above average at 193 & 190, and I found the groove for the third game and missed my all time high score by 5 pins at 267 Very Happy

Even with that, we lost the first two games and subsequently, the total. The second game were were really schooled and lost by 228 pins Shocked four of their 5 bowlers scored in the 220's. Even with the losses, it was a great time and a stress reliever Cool

Here's a shot of my final game with my team mates

Wow! Good game! I bet those last few frames were stressful, you were so close to 300+.

Nice! I've been bowling for about a year and a half now. My highest score had been a 249. But my average is usually in the 170-180 range. Actually, on Monday I just say a guy bowl a 280, only because of a 6/ in the 3rd frame. And another guy on my league was on his way to a 300 until he choked in the 10th frame.

This league has several bowlers who have bowled 300. I watched one last week just miss at 299. Though mostly competitive, it's a lot of fun too. My first night in the league, I rolled a couple of 230 games and started out with a 209 average. It's dropped considerably since, but I'm more comfortable at 180-190. Along with the 300 game, the 700 series has also eluded me - maybe its in the future...

Last night was just 5 off my highest ever where I strung 9 in a row only to mess up the 10th with a 6-spare-6.

Travis, the 300+ would be only because of my handicap. 300 is the perfect game of 12 strikes in a row Cool No way to hit 300 scratch with that spare in the first frame, highest could have been 290, then handicap 319...

Wait a minute, you were bowling 200's on your first night? I'm assuming you've bowled before semi regularly then right?

I'm not a rookie, if that's what you mean Wink I haven't bowled regularly in a league for a few years, and even then had a rough time hitting the 200 mark.

We need to do a bowling night sometime Razz Very Happy
