| Looking at this inspires me. How much of a budget do you think I would need to add twin turbos to,my car? |

| I got this nieghbor kid who has done alot with import turbos, and he seems to think that if we do all the piping ourselves that would should be under a grand including the carb, but I am not sure. I habe been doing alot of reading on tgo, but most are on FI cars |

I guess it depends on how back yard engineered you're going and how often you want to be stranded. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Off the top of my head:
$100 fuel pump
$150 regulator
$400 boost prepped carb
$xxx Tuning costs (Let's face it, you aren't there)
$200 braided fuel line
$200 fuel line fittings
$200 carb hat
$200 min for mild steel piping (Rust is always good in your intake) or
$350 min for stainless piping
$xxx welding the mild steel piping
$xxx welding the stainless piping
$200-500 exhaust system
$500 min for a pair of good turbos
$150 min cl intercooler
$125 couplers for the charge piping
$250+ for turbo manifolds
Comes out to $2675 if found cheap, plus the cost of fabing the piping on the cheap.
Good luck with that $1000.
And don't forget a pair of wastegates and blow off valves!
Oh and a turbo drain and feed line and welded fitting in the pan, easy $200 there.
Oh yeah, and your cast pistons will look really nice in the bottom of the pan. : O ) _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Probably a $1k in just little shizzle you dont even think about. Thats how these projects always seem to work. |

For what it's worth:
I'm a guy who for a long time built crappy sh** on the cheap. On my later projects I've become a guy who plans to do everything right and ends up with a half finished project for lack of funding, but that's okay because I'd rather have a roller than a turd.
As for your thousand bucks, think about this: I will probably spend more than that on an intercooler, wastegate and blowoff valve. Just three items and I've killed your entire budget. |

| So as I was going through the list of parts amd costs which paul providedbme, and I appreciate, I still think that I can come close to it maybe more like 1500, and my reasoning for that is that in my quest for more power, I needed alot of stuff anyways such as exaust, headers, better fuel pump, better heads etc. so many of the costs I will have either way. So with that said, I am hoping with turbo specific parts I will only be spending 1500 or so more then I I will normallybto get more power. Which I will need to decide which way I will go. Twin turbo, or build my 327 as much as can. |

| Well I did somemore reading today. I suppose I could go cheap and blow motor, which probably wouldnt bother me too much, or I could do it right and build motor so it could handle 8 to 10lbs boost. That is the path I think I will go. I will redo all that needs to be done to handle a reliable 400 or so horsepower motor, get motor to that point, then decide if then I want to tt it. |
