Picked up an 01 ZR2 Blazer yesterday. Has a few things I need to work on, but overall in pretty decent shape. Got it for $3650.
.
Did the driver door hinge pins today. Cost $16, what a major difference for such a small investment. Has an ABS brake code C0265. Anyone here have any experience with that problem? I've searched and find conflicting answers to that it

There are receipts for a $3600 transmission replacement and new engine mounts Les Schwab receipts for new front CV shafts, calipers, one hub and rotor. The tires he put on it were $182 each. Unfortunately the spare tire was stolen he said just before I bought it. Sucks............but I got a crappy steel wheel and a 31 inch tire mounted for $50 today for it. Has a small dent in the right rocker panel and a small crease in the door. I can live with that.

There are a few small other things that need to be worked on, but it drives very nice and the 4 wheel drive works very well. Sure jumps when it's in 4 low and you stab the go pedal (petal) Wink

I'm thinking about losing the brush guard. Not sure if the looks of it will grow on me or not.

Nice! The guard almost goes with the spare carrier but I think it might look better without.

Nice color! I like seeing the two-door Be-lazers. Thumbs up

Bull bar sticks out too far and is silly. I vote you trade it to somebody for a smaller one.

C0265 comes back as 'EBCM Motor Relay Circuit - Low Feedback Voltage' which could theoretically be caused by a wiring fault anywhere. The interwebs consensus on it seems to be to check the grounds on the chassis under the driver, and failing that check connection at the brick, or possibly even a bad brick.

You can put Camaro seats into a first-gen S10, but not sure about the later ones, or if the inverse is true.

Yes, you can put first-gen S10 seats in a Camaro as well.

I'm not sure about later ones either.

Took a long time searching to find a 2 door, especially a ZR2 for a decent price. I liked the color of this one also. And the new trans and all the other recent repairs he put into it.

The brush guard is going bye bye. A kid at work buys and sells auction cars and he had a spare wheel to match my other ones. Got it for $45. They also took the front valance off to put the brush guard on. Well the kid here had one of those also for $20. So gonna pull the guard off and put it on CL this weekend.

I didn't have much time yesterday to check the brakes out. The warning light is on most of the time, but not all the time. I've read that a bad ground might be causing it, but I didn't find the one they mentioned under the drivers door yet.

Maybe this weekend I can look for it again.

Those Zr2's are nice with the 1/2 ton axles and wider track width. I cant remember if those came with lockers front/rear too? I looked at a pickup when they very first came out.

I'm not sure it the front has a locker, but with the 4 wheel engaged it's sure hard to turn on pavement. Makes me think it does have one in the front. It was nice to look under it and not find a 7.5 rear in it.

Tonight on the way home it started to overheat. Looked and my water pump is leaking. So.........guess what I'm doing this weekend??? I drove it all the way home from dundee, oregon and it was full of water, so I think it's just bad timing that it chose to go out now on me.

Found this on the blazer forum. It's an online vin decoder. You get your first lookup free. Thought this was pretty cool for free.

Here is what my ZR2 has. Turns out there were only 9 made with the exact same options as mine has.

Well got the water pump changed and a window motor installed. It's not much easier to do a window motor in this than a 3rd gen is.

Also got rid of that stupid brush guard and got a front valance and tow hooks back on it. Looks much better now I think.

The brush guard is for sale. First $50 takes it Wink

Now if I could just find the front fender flare extensions I'd be set as far as putting it back to stock looking condition.
