The local shop said "it can be up to a couple of thousand" to do a rebuild, and doing it myself is beyond my skill, equipment and funds so,

gotcha, but then what is the black cylinder for? I though the smaller piece of diameter was inside it. It is next to my non tied down battery, maybe it got crushed? |

Deq results in
Before Iso-Heet to a very low tank: HC's were at 285 and 305 (standard is 220)
After, it was 221. Much clsoer, but they still failed me for smoking. |

With the multimeter set to "200" the OHMs were around 180, car off, acc on.
More importantly, I twisted that orange wire back together to see what it did, and I got a reading of 14.62 w ... |

Sigh, new battery check, new alternator tested good, installed both and.... Same problem
I just so happened to notice an orange wire, to the immediate right of the battery that been destro ... |

I just double check the connector and it looks fine. The contacts are nice and shiny. I tested the voltage on the contacts with the harness disconnected so it seems like it's working fine. |
