Don't mean to barge in here but they did say modified vortecs right? Meaning you will need to get springs and all that good stuff to support the cam. Go fast stuff gets expensive. Its adds up qhick if ...

Did you make sure that the torque converter locked in? If you stack it that will be a problem. Not sure if it would cause this.
